Join in this special Wisconsin Science Festival activity where “builders” from across the state are invited to share what color is by their ‘stacks of color.’ This effort aims to understand how Wisconsinites perceive the color of ‘hope,’ the color of ‘boredom’ and the color of your favorite song!
Participants can
build their stacks online, or they can build in person during the Wisconsin Science Festival, October 11-14 at the Discovery Building.
The stacks of color will be showcased in the windows of the Discovery Building to make an amazing representation of art and data guided by UW-Madison artist-in-residence

Karen Schloss. On Sunday, October 14, UW-Madison assistant professor
Kevin Ponto will join Karen and Stuart to scan the data stored in the stacks of color and convene a panel discussion around the project. If you can’t make it in person, there will be a video archive of the presentation available soon after the Wisconsin Science Festival.
Teachers will have the ability to analyze and manipulate the data for data visualization projects in the classroom after the Wisconsin Science Festival at
