This fall, UW–Madison welcomed the largest incoming class in the university’s history.

The freshman class was selected from a record number of applicants: 35,615. Of the new freshmen this year, 3,746 are Wisconsin residents.

With deer season on horizon, UW-Madison lab ramps up for CWD testing

Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (WVDL)  is one of only 19 labs in the United States capable of testing for CWD and other prion diseases. The lab works closely with both the DNR and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services to help manage the disease, conduct surveillance, and ensure human health.

New accelerated undergraduate nursing program at UW-Madison to address workforce need

Graduating more UW–Madison nurses through this program will more rapidly address the problem and positively impact the health care needs of Wisconsin residents.
