Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes visited UW–Stevens Point and UW–Madison Wednesday to talk about proposals for higher education that Gov. Tony Evers announced in his State of the State address Tuesday night. 76th Assembly District Rep. Francesca Hong joined Lt. Gov. Barnes at UW–Madison.
UW–Madison ingenuity was on display Friday, Dec. 17, as state officials and university leadership toured Stratatech Corp. in University Research Park in Madison.
Undergraduate researchers from across UW System were in Madison on March 11, 2020 showcasing their innovative projects in the rotunda of the Wisconsin State Capitol. UW-Madison students students shared their hard work with Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes, legislators, Chancellor Rebecca Blank, members of UW System and the public.
Research in the Rotunda at the the Wisconsin State Capitol features undergraduate research. UW System Ray Cross and UW-Madison Provost Sarah Menglesdorf were among the visitors. Undergraduate research is an important part of our campus and has an impact on all corners of our state.
UW–Madison Day at the State Capitol, an advocacy and outreach event, was held April 10. More than 20 graduate student research projects on display included pollinators in Wisconsin agricultural landscapes, glaucoma treatment, how to treat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections, learning companion robotics, chemotherapy drug effectiveness, and more.
