Crystal Potts will join University Relations as the director of state relations for UW–Madison in November.
Potts comes to UW–Madison from Wisconsin state Sen. Howard Marklein’s office, where she served as his chief of staff and supported the legislature’s Joint Finance Committee.
This resource illustrates the university’s funding sources, expenditures, student financial aid, fund balances and economic impact. Chancellor Rebecca Blank states, “It is my hope that this document helps us build the case for why UW–Madison should be a priority for investment by the state of Wisconsin.”
The Wisconsin Partnership Program at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health has awarded nine grants totaling more than $400,000 to organizations throughout Wisconsin. One project aims to increase access to nutritious summer food program for students including access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
UW–Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank writes in her blog that the System budget request aligns well with the institution’s goals.
“I’m happy to support this request, and I hope you will join our efforts over the next nine months as part of the state budget process,” Blank says.
Chancellor Blank highlighted student and faculty achievement saying that in many ways 2015 was a record-setting year for the state’s flagship university. She urged a renewed commitment to keeping UW–Madison among the top public universities at a time when peer institutions are seeing greater investment from their respective states.
